ASDEF · SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Since 2013, African Social Development Focus has delivered humanitarian, peace, and development programs across Arid and Semi-Arid Lands — reaching over 8 million people in more than 6 counties.
OUR STORY
African Social Development Focus (ASDEF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2013 and registered under the NGO Coordination Board of Kenya (Reg. No. OP.218/051/13-044/8863), with recognition as a civil society actor in Somalia and Ethiopia. ASDEF is proud to be a disability-led organization, with persons with disabilities represented in its leadership, governance and programme design. Working primarily across Wajir, Mandera, Garissa and Tana River Counties and the cross-border cluster with Somalia and Ethiopia, ASDEF confronts food insecurity, limited healthcare access, and climate vulnerability through sustainable, community-driven initiatives — working hand in hand with local leaders, government agencies, and NGOs to address the root causes of poverty, inequality, and conflict.
