Every child has the right to access safe and quality education. However, 131 million girls around the world are missing out on school, and girls are 50% more likely to lose the opportunity for education than boys. Girls living in the poor and remote areas are often denied access to education which affects their futures ASDEF strive to help vulnerable and excluded children, particularly girls, grow up equally valued and cared for and free from discrimination by promoting free and equal access to education for all children by working with their families, communities, county and national government. We work towards ensuring transparency and accountability to decision making process towards realizing children rights. ‘ASDEF believes that an educated society is an empowered society’. Keeping kids safe is a top priority in places where children are vulnerable to trafficking, child labor, early marriage, and other forms of exploitation and abuse. Poverty forces families who cannot afford to feed and educate their children to consider child marriage and makes “too good to be true” job offers hard to resist. Our goal is prevention. We work to educate families and offer alternatives.
